Agreeing to these Terms

These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and The Migraine Network LLC (“we,” “us”). They cover the members’ app and website, the community, and the migraine tracker. You agree to them when you create an account, and you must agree before you can see or post in the community. Our Privacy policy and our community guidelines are part of these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Who can use The Migraine Network

You must be 18 or older. The service is not offered in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Brazil, or China. One account per person. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you are responsible for what is posted from your account.

Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users

The community exists so people living with migraine can support each other safely. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or for members who abuse others. You may not post, or send through your profile:

• Harassment, bullying, insults aimed at a member, or anything meant to demean or intimidate someone.
• Hate speech or slurs about race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other part of who someone is.
• Threats of violence, or telling someone to hurt or kill themselves.
• Sexual or pornographic content, nudity, or sexual requests.
• Attempts to find out who an anonymous member is, or sharing anyone’s private information.
• Impersonating another person, a moderator, or a medical professional.
• Spam, selling, fundraising, or “miracle cures.”
• Anything illegal, or that encourages dangerous or illegal activity.

Talking honestly about how hard migraine is, including your own dark days, is always allowed. If you are struggling, you will never be removed for saying so; a moderator may reach out with support.

How we keep the community safe

• Filtering. Posts, comments, and profiles are checked before they are saved. Anything with slurs, threats, or sexual content is blocked from being posted. Other possible problems are flagged automatically for a moderator to review.
• Reporting. Tap the “···” menu on any post or comment and choose Report. Reports are private; the author never learns who reported them. What you report is removed from your feed right away.
• Hiding. Choose Hide post or Hide comment to remove it from your feed immediately, without reporting it.
• Blocking. Choose Block and you and that member stop seeing each other’s posts and comments, and they can no longer reply to you. They aren’t told. This works on anonymous posts too; the member’s identity stays private, even from you. You can undo blocks and hidden posts in Settings.
• Moderator review within 24 hours. Our moderators review every report within 24 hours. Content that breaks these Terms is removed, and the member who posted it can be removed from the community: everything they posted comes down, they can no longer see or post in it, and they are told by email. Serious violations, such as threats or hate, lead to removal the first time and can also close the account’s sign-in.

Posting anonymously

You can post and comment anonymously. Your name and photo are hidden from other members. Moderators can see who wrote an anonymous post so they can keep people safe and enforce these Terms, and they never reveal it. Anonymous posts follow exactly the same rules, and breaking them while anonymous leads to removal just the same.

Your content

What you post is yours. By posting it, you let us show it to other members in the community for as long as it is posted. You can edit or delete your own posts and comments at any time. We may remove any content that breaks these Terms or that we believe puts someone at risk.

Not medical advice

The Migraine Network is for support and information. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Patterns the tracker shows are observations from what you logged, not a diagnosis. Always talk with your own doctor before making decisions about your health. In an emergency, call 911. If you are in crisis in the US, call or text 988.

Your tracker

What you log in the tracker is private to your account. No other member or moderator can see it. You can export it or delete it at any time. The Privacy policy explains how it is stored and protected.

Ending your account

You can delete your account and all of your data at any time from Settings in the app. We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these Terms, and a removed member may not create a new account.

Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Content posted by members is their own and does not reflect our views. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service or from content posted by other members.

If you downloaded the app from an app store

These Terms are between you and The Migraine Network LLC, not Apple or Google. We, not they, are responsible for the app and its content. Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to the iOS app, and Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce these Terms as they relate to your use of the iOS app.

Changes to these Terms

If we make a meaningful change, we will update the date at the top of this page and ask you to agree to the new Terms in the app. Your continued use after that means you accept them.
